ABOUT
There was a time when the Knanaya community—whether Catholic, Jacobite, or Evangelical—enjoyed a unique position among other communities in Kerala. Being endogamous for centuries gave them a distinct edge. Likely due to their inherent migratory spirit, they settled across the globe, building prosperous lives for themselves and strengthening the community.
However, recent years have seen the community plagued by internal and external challenges: litigations, rivalries, and factional feuds. These struggles have tarnished the Knanaya community’s hard-earned reputation, dimming the glory of its storied past.
In light of these circumstances, a group of concerned individuals (listed below) recognized the urgent need for renewal. We formed this Trust to pursue the following goals:
1. Renewing the moral foundation of the community.
2. Preserving customs, traditions, and practices unique to the Knanaya identity.
3. Uniting Knanites of all denominations born to Knanaya parents to uphold our shared heritage and unity.
4. Celebrating past leaders by documenting their contributions accurately for future generations.
5. Identifying and nurturing talent by providing recognition, encouragement, and support to emerging leaders.
6. Supporting Knanaya in distress—no member of our community should face hardship alone. We pledge to help them overcome challenges.
